Possible! To have(you said USAF)base storage of caskets would not be unusual....... At Nellis AFB, which is a big base, they currently have a newish hospital that serves active, retired military and may serve veterans as well.....Accidents happen out on the range and crews die.....veterans die from age and disease.....Therefore there are needs from caskets.... HTH
