WB57 at KDRA

He flew today as NASA926, first from KLSV to R4808. That plan closed and he filed a KDRA-KLSV flight plan. FlightAware is freakin' out because they took KDRA out of their database.

Past two days his orbits have mostly been over R4808 at the NTS.

I am inclined to believe that he's doing some sort of testing related to measuring nuclear material from distance. It's preplexing, though, that he did the same kind of orbits over KLAS fothe past two weeks. Certainly, even DoD isn't crazy enough to put nuclear material in such a populated area.

I'm not certain, also, that the KDRA was an actual takeoff/landing spot. I think they used it more like a waypoint, or a restricted airspace entry/exit point as they do frequently.

The other WB57, NASA928, flew from KEFD to Bermuda last night.

What are NASA up to?
