Re: Beast of Kandahard downed?

Drones are carrying a lot of fuel and normally take off near max weight. "Flight termination" usually mean control inputs that result in a crash nearly straight down. Explosive self-destruct mechanisms are far too dangerous to routinely install in an aircraft on a crowded flightline. Also, the extra weight would cost range or payload. However, any explosion or crash leaves many intact parts anyway.

Losing contact with the control crew is normally followed by an automatic flight to a recovery base.

Of course, if hit by enemy fire but not severly damaged, it's possible that none of this happens, and it simply glides to a bad landing or spins to a fairly soft impact, especially if most of the fuel was already used.

There is no way to assure that it is totally destroyed. My question is: Where are the photos?
