It's the largest collection of declassified Area 51 images in a single volume. Due to space limitations inherent in the Arcadia format I had to select 224 pictures from at least twice that many potential candidates. I sacrificed quite a few beautiful airplane photos for pictures that many people might find less interesting, but which tell the important story of the people who provide support for flight test activities. I was acutely conscious that the flyboys and hardware usually get all the glory, so I chose photos that provide a more complete and balanced story.
