You should be able to make it in dry weather to the lower camp spot. Then it is only about an additional 1/2 mile easy hike before the trailhead. If we have a crazy winter, that could change, but I doubt it. 4 of us are going to be going there for a few days next July if that is in your timeframe to go. We have 4wd's should you get into trouble.
