It will probably take a threat from space (like a meteor, comet or such - not Klatuu and Gort landing in DC), or playing catchup in another space race as the Chinese take over space exploration to ramp up funding for NASA. Don't kid yourself, this administration keeps harping on Construction jobs that support "repairing infrastructure" in preference to supporting the existing useful and productive aerospace industry that NASA has guided. Maybe the scientists and technicians at KSC, Dryden, Houston and elsewhere can learn to dig ditches and spread asphalt, because their intellectual (and non-union) jobs just are not what this administration values. Quite possibly the next time "Tang" will be in space will be the name of the next astronaut to walk on the moon or land on Mars as our grandkids watch on TV and wonder where we went wrong.
