Well, it is the wilderness after all...

We were camping a few years ago at the "Hidden Campsite" and a two to three foot snake slithered right thru our camp and on his way. I thought for sure my wife was going to freak for sure! If you take a cheap tent up with you, your misses will sleep better knowing no snakes or critters will snuggle up with you at night. I know mine does. I saw a mountain lion once crossing Highway 375 near Hancock Summit. I carry a 9mm with me when I'm out there, even though I doubt I'd have the heart to shoot one even if it came after me. I'm more worried about running into a bad egg wanting to relieve me of my camera, binoculars, scanner and other kit out there than a mountain lion... Use common sense and you'll be fine.
