Ed Lovick had wanted to publish his autobiography for some time. He saw it as a chance to share stories of the many brilliant people he worked with on fantastic engineering projects such as development of early stealth craft. He also wanted to use the opportunity to inspire young people to study science and engineering.

For a while, he was in discussions with Annie Jacobsen to be his co-author (in the same way that I helped test pilot Don Mallick with his book). The deal fell apart because Annie wanted to write it as a "love story."

I was ready to step in and help Ed write his book but he decided to self publish the material he already had. The result is less polished than it might have been, but he wanted to get his book out before Annie's Area 51 book was released.
