I know HQII and HQIIA were used in Red Flag and Green flag exercises in the far past. I built slow, medium, and fast follower jammers to test them. I also worked with an ultra fast follower jammer built by Sanders which we modified for field use. We had to shrink it down to fit into very small van. I also worked on a data collection project that analyzed all the radio traffic during a Red Flag exercise. I have also conducted tests of the HQ II while in the air. I spent several years as a HQ II technician. Often times I was given a van with a HQ II inside and I would be sent to a remote location where I was would pump computer generated random codes through it at pre-arranged times. Good times.
