Let's assume that US oil consumption flattens out and stays constant at current levels. And let's assume that we drill baby drill and extract 100% of the oil reserves of the US. And then we're free of foreign oil! Hurray for us, until we burn through our petro reserves in about 3.5 years.
Of course, this has less to do with Area 51 than space aliens and flying saucers, but what the hell?
I'm really interested in politics, especially pissing contests with the uninformed about the Cold War. But this isn't the place. Is it?
