Texas was ignored because it is 1) Texas and 2) a Red state. It was all politics folks, pure and simple. DC is NOT going to do ANYTHING good for a state who has been a thorn in the side of this administration so bye-bye Shuttle. No matter that Downtown NASA in Houston and the KSC has the absolute greatest first refusal right, or that the Intrepid has NOTHING to do with the Shuttle program it is all about politics. Remember kids, before the end of this administration America will have something it not had since the sixties - no manned space program (besides hitching rides with the Russians and maybe soon with the Chinese) - how's THAT for a change.
