That is a really great feature! I like to use Google Earth to preview any trip; it really helps orient you and keep from getting of course or lost.
I hiked the Tikaboo trail last year with two of my daughters. We started at 8pm and hiked the "worst part" with much wailing and knashing of teeth". The next day, I hiked back to the trail head to get water and back up the mountain. The "hell" section is steep and scoured of footholds by the traffic; going along the edge is much better footing. Too bad the BLM would probably not allow trail building without a nightmare of permitting. A well designed switch back series would protect hikers and prevent further erosion.
