WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. Air Force B-1 bomber went down in the Indian Ocean on Wednesday, but there were no initial reports of any casualties, the Pentagon said. "At approximately 11:30 EST today, an Air Force B-1 bomber went down in the Indian Ocean, approximately 30 miles north of Diego Garcia," Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clarke said. "There were no known casualties, rescue efforts are under way and we have no indications as to the cause," she told a media briefing.
