There may be no need- the article states that - but what a missed opportunity to prove the F-22 in a real combat environment!

One unstated hold-back might be if the intercommunications are as limited as the article states - chances are the F-22 could accidentally fire on coalition aircraft.

I'm just saying ... missed opportunity and a chance to prove to an enemy just how lethal the Raptor is. Instead - we just revealed it's limitations.
