I have to believe that the antennas and fairings were left in place simply because it was cheaper to do so. The only reason the Janet 737's have the red stripe is because when the 200's were transferred from Western AL ownership they had them. Just cheaper to keep them that way. It's easier to paint around non-functioning fiberglass housings than have them removed and patch the resulting holes in the fuselage.
