Thank you all for your comments, here in the forum and in email. I appreciate everyone's opinion. Most of our readers don't seem to miss a facebook extension. And frankly, I was warned about the amount of time it takes to maintain by a friend who knows what he is talking about. I have never used facebook, so I am not really qualified to judge whether it offers significant advantages. As for posting news, photos etc. from the field instantly, as long as you have a site to upload your photos to, you can post the story and a link to the images and other material you like to share here in the forum. This may not be perfect, but right now that is the best I can do. I hope you all understand.
