Personally I think a option to click the name behind the post (as in: ''Re: The Dreamlandresort Community - RJT'') would be enough. When you click the name you'll see brief bio of the user.
When you want a nice layout for different subjects and personal profiles, a full-feature board is the way to go, but full feature forums demand a lot of bandwith and are difficult to maintain in my opinion. I have some moderator experience on other boards. Never thought the DLR board was difficult in use though.
