About six years ago I was looking for any information on Kelly Johnson I could find. Books, videos, articles, etc. I was fascinated by Kelly’s contribution to aviation and his leadership style. In my search I came across Leland Haynes, who contributed to my search by providing me the video: Kelly’s Way. I had found dead end after dead end trying to get my hands on that video and Leland was kind enough to send me an extra one he had.

I was fortunate enough to have a few other phone conversations with Leland through the years. He was quite the gentleman and aviation historian. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Leland.
