Revised Hangar / Site Dimension Estimates

Sorry about another revision (Rev 3). I had made an error in the Office / Shop floorspace estimates. I added a view of the Office / Shop Area to the link below. I am going to create a couple of more views - one with a B767 size aircraft and a second with a group of fighter (F-15) sized vehicles. Let me know if you want other concepts shown.

Building outside dimensions – 320’ wide (E-W), 168’ deep (N-S), 65’ tall at ends and 80’ tall at East West center

Hangar Doors – 2 (North and South facing) sliding door type

Hangar Door Dimensions – South Door 172’ wide, 50’ tall, North Door 172’ wide, 50’ tall

Usable highbay hangar floor space dimensions – 246’ wide, 155’ deep

Usable highbay hangar floor area total – (246’ wide x 155 deep)’ sq ft = 38,130 sq ft

Usable highbay hangar area between hangar doors – (172’ wide * 155’ deep) sq ft = 26,660 sq ft

OFFICE / SHOP PORTION OF NEW HANGAR BUILDING

Outside dimensions of Office / Shop area – 69’ wide, 168’ deep, 65’ tall

Floors – 4

Main Entry on East face of building

Several (unknown number) of access doors into highbay hangar area from office / shop area

Stairwells – 2 External, Unknown number Internal

Office / Shop space available –
(69’ wide * 168’ deep) = 11,592 sq ft (first-third floors each)
(55’ wide * 168’ deep) = 9,240 sq ft (fourth floor)
(3 * 11,592 sq ft) + (1 * 9,240 sq ft) = 45,096 sq ft total

SITE FEATURES OUTSIDE OF NEW BUILDING

Engine run support – 2 tie down areas each with a 78’ wide blast deflector (height unknown)

Single 65' wide taxiway to airfield portion of Area 51
