The rocket engine test stands on Leuhman Ridge (including the one with the American flag) belong to the Air Force Research Laboratory, not NASA. Nice overview shots of the base. I have always wanted to compare shots of Edwards from Rich Road (Rocket Site Road) to pictures of Groom taken from Freedom Ridge at similar magnifications. It's a little surprising that anyone would make the long pilgrimage to Edwards (it's a long journey whether you come from Rosamond or Timbuktu) without contacting any of the DLR Team members who work at Edwards to ask about getting a tour. There are cool things inside the hangars, you know.
