We had a brief discussion in mid Nov on this and perhaps Peter Merlin's comments were the most realistic: "The new hangar is big enough to house one or two large aircraft or a bunch of smaller aircraft. There is nothing to indicate one or the other so it is useless (if amusing) to speculate about it" The thing that keeps me thinking is the height, why so high? Maybe when the Shuttles retire the 747 transporter will take on a new role piggy backing UAV's to high altitudes. Yes it is amusing to speculate but also frustrating not knowing why it was built this big, in this particular position of the airfield and why a big mound of dirt was made to block the view from Tikaboo. They know we are looking and have something very special to hide. Damn what is it?
