I still think these recent sightings are tests for future UAV/UCAV's and this/these F117 airframes are being fitted with trial systems for them. The F117 in is so similar in shape to the proposed next generation of U/CAV it will present similar unstable flight characteristics for the Remote Pilot to deal with. It would be ideal to have a Pilot onboard to keep an eye on things while this work is carried out and could take over the flight if things were to go wrong be it Software or Human error from the ground.
