What seems stupid, to me anyway, is that presumably the "media" could have access with a 2000mm lens and Joe Public couldn't. The "media" could have photograhped anything with the 2000mm lens and have posted it on the web on Monday, whereas Joe Public might not have. Kind of makes you wonder what was so "vital". If there were something either static, or flying that they were concerned about, the same policy (300mm only) should have applied to everybody.
