The Air Forces LTA platforms were killed DEAD. Near Space/Joint warfighter space were going to massively jeopardize the budget for Sats and high altitude manned recon. The new brass after General Jumper left did the math and decided they didn't want anything that threatened budgets, no matter how good it was. The Air force does not play nice with the Army, and you wont see their new toys at Area51.
