I'm thankful I stuck with this field and am fortunate to have been able to work on some fascinating programs periodically. You need to be available to relocate to where the jobs are, though. Do not marry a gal from an area she is not willing to leave, unless the jobs are there. Additionally, maintaining a clearance with a current update helps the job prospects. Do not expect to be paid like a lawyer, and do not let them talk you into taking management jobs - stay "technical" in your pursuits. It is very rewarding, if you "stick to your guns" and pursue the jobs you are most interested in.
