Hiked over to the slightly larger hill to the west -- and to the taller of the two "summits" there, just in time to hear (what sounded like) five sonic booms around 11am or so (some were probably echos from the hills around). Went on into Rachel and met Alan at the Little A Le Inn -- the Las Vegas MUFON director (or former director). Oh, the night before we saw a few bright orange/red (apparent) flares just above hte ridgeline to the southwest. Nearly full moon a couple of hours after dark. Great time. Took a photo of the brand new Rachel sign (which I learned had just been put up at 8:30 that very morning). I'll include that in another post. Joe
