When I visited in April...I made a mistake climbing Tikaboo on a Sunday which I Now believe is the quietest day..I dont think there is much happens at the base and there is low or no flight activity. ( after failing to find the correct route on the Saturday after a late start) When I was on Tikaboo..later in the afternoon.. I could see a large area of dust rising in the distance towards the south west. this was in an area that I didnt expect to see anyone...As far as I know this was well away from any of the main trails. When I looked through my binoculars... there was 3 or 4 cammo vehicles circuling around one behind the other creating the big dust activity.. This went on for well over an hour... maybe two. It looked like a mini tornado or dust devil only just staying in one place. Maybe this gives you an idea how they spend their time when its a quieter day. :-)
The next day I travelled down Groom Road.. and had 3 cammo trucks check me out... After I left the gate one followed me for quite a few miles and then turned off on one of the tracks as I got about half way back down Grrom lake Road.
