About 18 years ago i was just south of Armagosa Valley on 373 and saw a flight of A-10s flying low over the highway and heading to the west. I think they were too far north to have been on vr1214. A little before that, i had heard a flight of A-10s on 254.4 saying they were going out to the LATN west area. I think that must have been them. I just found this doc with a map that shows the LATN areas. From the article "LOW ALTITUDE TACTICAL NAVIGATION (LATN) AREA – Airspace east, south, and west
of the NTTR between 50 and 1,500 feet AGL to allow random selection of navigation points and low
altitude formation practice. Ground tracks must remain well clear of Class B & D airspace, airports,
and residential, populated and noise sensitive areas. Airspeeds are below 250 knots." The map is on the last page. I was wondering if anyone has recently heard any A-10s going out to any of the LATN areas.
