The two Typhoons in the USA at the moment ZJ913 and ZJ930 turned up at Miramar Airshow last weekend. The two crew confirmed to anyone who asked that they arrived about a week ago into Las Vegas, are based at China Lake and were offered the chance of a weekend in San Diego.

They didn't mention dissimilar air-air combat training with Su-27s and MiG-29.

I'm slightly curious why it is the same two airframes back on this detachment. I know the squadron they are assigned to, 17(R), doesn't have loads to choose from but the RAF isn't as short as airframes as it is of pilots. One assumes these two must be at some unique level of kit/software.
