Easy to now look back from a comfy armchair. People who were there held strong values of duty and service, born out of events of the time. Strict security measures saw the recruitment of low risk, stable people mainly with families. Those people willingly traded off normal family life to work in a miserable spartan place. They did it because of the higher duty they felt. They were making a difference. I know of some who later in life developed cancer – they would never contemplate joining the law suit. Anyone currently under the age 60 will probably just never understand. In the final accounts there is a human price associated with everything, even in making that comfy armchair.

No?
