Peter-someone......somewhere......at some point has to approve these Group Patches. Some containing obvious, yet veiled, references to the system or aircraft or program they are tied to. Many un-discernable, yet others giving away the "farm" so to speak.

Any insight upon the design and approval process? Who is it that okays the BOP outline as the hilt on a sword for that test group's patch? Who is it that okays Latin references to the taste of chicken and includes an image of the classic Grey Alien on others?

Is this a formal process or just a localized club with some leniency?
