They (air force) brought it on themselves. The situation however, could be remedied quite easily. Identify the absolute hottest day of the year. Hide all the good planes in the farthest hangar. Bring in a group of 20 reporters and let them wander around escorted as much as they want. It wont take 20 minutes of sweating their a**es off until they have seen enough. Have the complementary water at the other end of the base. The reporters will undoubtedly report its the most hot and boring place they've EVER seen. Urban legend=dead.
