The plane is the F-14D (Vandy 1), which visits the "area" on a regular basis. It provides supersonic chase to certain projects and is also used in evaluation (The Evaluators of VX-9 foremrly VX-4, Playboy 1)against the Su-27 and MiG-29s at Groom. There were some recent evaluation flights in october. The aircraft is painted black. The vertical feature that might suggest that it is the air intake of a MiG-29 is really the aircraft's leading edge. Also, the MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft at Groom are not painted black.
