Leaving Lompoc going north, Rt 1 intersects Purisima RD. Rt 1 goes left and you would want to go straight through that intersection which becomes Harris Grade. Go to a map program and it is clear. I did not look on Google. This road climbs up and over a high hill with several turnoffs and looks down on the base just a few miles away.
