Thank you BeltwayBandit. Your description is as I thought. I was curious how this particular aircraft fit in with the Top Gun aircraft at Miramar and/or Fallon. I had never seen a photo of it before, unlike the well known F-14 Black Bunny. Also I realized just after I sent the e-mail that this couldn't be one of the YF-17 protypes as it was/is a two seater!!
