Yes here is a photo of a current one. Buried in the road is a magnetic sensor that trips when your vehicle drives over it. It is connected to the transmitter pictured above via a cable. I photoshopped out the transmitter's number which is located in the center of the brick sized housing. The transmitter is typically buried about 20 feet away off the road. All that sticks out of the dirt is the silver hexagon above the "US Government Property" That is the antenna which you can see is about as thick as a guitar's E string and about 18 inches long. You can be standing right next to the transmitter and never see it among the desert brush. Below is the manufacture's website
