Hey, I'm "that guy!"

The remote gate is located at: 37° 32.912'N, 115° 48.212'W. There isn't much to see up that way but it is near a F-4 Phantom II tail no. 66-0227 that crashed during a Red Flag exercise in 1979. There are sensors buried in the road going to the restricted border, so you will most likely get a visit from the Cammo Dudes. They sit up on a hill at 37° 33.082'N, 115° 48.439'W that over looks the road, gate and crash site.

The other gate is much closer to the Rachel Back Gate located at: 37° 32.903'N, 115° 52.930'W. There isn't anything to see here except the gate and warning signs and a white 55 gallon drum with a black No. 17 painted on it used as a road marker. The only reason I went here in the first place, was the fact I was never down that road before. And I was really hoping they would send the pavehawk after me! Lol.

Roadblock canyon was cool for the Cammo Dude interaction. But there is nothing to see at all except orange poles. If you are going to go over the roadblock, make sure you got a beefy 4WD. Even the Cammo Dudes didn't attempt it!

Thanks for reading the trip report,
Cheers!
