Ah, I thought it might have been an A-10. The nose looks similar, and the turbo fan engines are very quiet. You don't hear it coming, and that is the idea. Some A-10's have a dark green paint scheme, and they like to fly low, under the enemy radar.

A-10's are frequent participants in the war games out of Nellis AFB. There is always a chance that it was from Groom, but it is quite likely that the aircraft you saw was on its way to beat up some simulated bad guys in the NTTR. You don't hear it coming, but when that nose mounted gatling gun goes off, it has your full attention. Especially if you are on the receiving end...
