after some checking (with a friend at the Edwards museum) this appears to be just a "severe" sonic boom. he had just arrived at the museum and saw a contrail in the sky directly above him. like me, he also looked for the telltale plume of smoke from a "smoking hole" that many of us vets of Edwards have seen in the past. he said he got a call from his roommate in lancaster (who lives about a mile from me) asking what that was because it was very odd. he also agreed it had unique properties to it. anyway, when wierd sounds/vibrations like this happen it would be great if users of this forum could post them for discussion if they seem out of the ordinary. just a thought.
