most all civil air crash wreckage gets picked up by the FAA or NTSB for accident review, usually hauled away to some hangar they lease or own.
I don't think there's anything unusual about it - they want to keep the parts away from tampering or theft, so it doesn't interfere with the accident investigation and eventual report.
not sure what the do with the wreckage afterwards, probably sold as scrap quietly, so as not to have any scavengers and whatnot.
