Anyone notice a smoke trail in the West, Las Vegas sky?

Tonight around 5:30 pm I was travelling west on Windmill looking at the sunset while at a red light. noticed what initially looked like an aircraft throwing contrails coming from the west to the east as if in the McCarran landing pattern. Then the "contrail" sort of "bubbled" for lack of a better term, lasted almost an equal lenght as before the bubble and stopped.

The next traffic light was also red, so I was able to scan the area in the sky and the "contrail" wasn't a contrail at all, it lasted much longer than another contrail from an aircraft in the area. It also was a good bit darker than a normal contrail.

Watched the news saw nothing about it, wonderin if anyone else in the Vegas area may have seen this.

It was just to the south of Mt Potosi, right after the sun ducked behind the mountains. Too high to take a picture with the brightness of the sunset.

No, I was not under any controlled substances. :)
