The guy I talked to said HAVE BLUE was buried with no intention of ever retrieving it. There was no reason to keep any record of the location. it was just buried trash. At the time, there was no expectation that it would ever be declassified.

Some two decades later, somebody thought it might be a good idea to dig up ship 1001 and restore it for static display in front of Base Ops, or perhaps even putting it in the USAF Museum. Some attempt was made to locate the buried airframe, but without success. Other things, including SENIOR PROM material, were found and reburied. It is believed that HB1001 might be under a road that was paved over the burial site.
