I think the cameras are there mostly to give you a heads-up that you are being watched. I have seen at least two where the cables were cut and the solar panel missing. There are tire tracks up to "your" camera it in GE though, so it may still be in use. But I think we all know that they got better toys than that to track curious visitors... :-)
