Minor correction: If you draw a straight line from Nellis AFB to the Ft. Irwin MOA, the closest point to Pahrump is about 25 miles SE of Pahrump. In reality they launch NE, fly along Hwy 95 on the north side of Mt. Charleston and then, at a point about 25 miles NE of Pahrump, head south. That route avoids conflicts with the very busy McCarran approach along I-15 south.
