The gravel pit has been there for a while, but the conveyer belts and other equipment are new, indicating increased activity. The pit was mostly used by the farms and locals to get gravel for road improvements. My guess would be road improvements on one of the farm roads. I would be surprised if the base would get its gravel here, being that they have a large pit on base. But then, who knows. I'll try to find out more...
