Not a bad spot to camp, although Chalk Mountain blocks your view of anything coming out of Groom. The road to this remote gate is a little rough in a few spots. I noticed the graded area you mentioned a while ago. A line of dirsturbed ground leads from it all the way to some of the sites north of the base. Not sure what it is. Although it is right inside the fence you can not see it from there, but I looked at it from a hill to the east. It does not stand out much, and does not look fresh. An old location for a radar site, maybe?
