Area 51 did not close, nor was stuff moved elsewhere. When you mention people say that, it is not informed sources that say it, it is people who just repeat something that read on the internet, and that comes from a piece of journalistic malfeasance from the mid 90s.

Basically you answered your own question. You correctly cited evidence of how busy it is, which is evidence enough of ongoing activity there.
