JT3 does radar, microwave, and flight test engineering - check their Vegas jobs. They all list requirements for experience/education in radar and antenna theory, and in depth coverage of RF. If they were after engineers with credentials for the kind of projects you listed, they would be hiring aeronautical engineers, and not primarily electrical/computer engineers and mathematicians. It's not some big mystery what kind of activities JT3 is involved in out there.
