When you say permit, I assume you mean a Nevada CCW concealed weapons permit? If so then yes, absolutely. I believe the only place you can't have a concealed weapon is in a Federal building, school campus, casino and where they serve alcohol, etc.

Technically, you can wear a weapon in plain sight like in a cowboy style holster in Nevada. However, This is where I say local laws apply first. I live in Clark County, NV. I believe that it may be illegal to do that in Clark Co. but I could be wrong. I do know if you are camping it is perfectly ok for you to have a firearm at the campsite. I do not have a CCW but when at the campsite, I wear my Sig Sauer 228 in a side holster in plain sight. Rumor has it the police may consider this to be concealed as it is in a holster. What should I do then put it on a string around my neck? I consider myself a law abiding citizen with the right to protect myself and wife. If I get a visitor stop by to see what's going on, I want him to know I carry. Just to keep the honest people honest so to speak. Remember, you got cameras, scanners, binoculars, telescope and other tools of the trade. That's a pretty good haul for some meth head! Plus you never know what type of critter you might run into, even though I've never run into anything out there animal wise that I saw as a threat. On the other hand, I used to always camp at the "hidden Campsite." Almost every time there, something wacky would happen. One time around 2am, I heard a car stop, shoot at a sign a few times or fireworks maybe? Then drive off. Another time I heard loud bangs from GLR and saw what looked like someone throwing flaming logs high into the air. weird stuff like that to put you on edge in the middle of the night...
