I was sitting in my living room this evening watching the NFL game when I heard this "thunder sound". I ran to the window to see if the thunder was close. My killer pitbull is scared to death of thunder and lighting, so was going to let her in. To my surprise, it was a jet that had left Nellis heading Northwest. It was quite a bit lower than the normal pattern and that might account for the noise. The "thunder" sound was definitely not a sonic boom, but it sounded more like the jet hit the after burners or something like that. I am just wondering if anybody was tracking anything unusual leaving nellis this evening. It was at about 8:19 pm. It sure sounded like a beast of some sort, and not like the usual F16. I had no idea what it was looking at it in the night sky.
